Meda Ayur-Yoga Peetha

MEDA AYUR-YOGA PEETHA is a credible non-governmental organization. It was originally known by the name of (SSEC) Small Scale Enterprise Council founded at the University of Mauritius after a workshop conference on Education Enterprise sponsored by UNIDO (United Nations).
In 2011 it changed into MEDA AYUR-YOGA PEETHA to focus on Ayurveda & Yoga education for the development of physical, mental, spiritual and socio-cultural well being for a healthy creative innovative and enterprising nation. All our activities which we have successfully done till date is free and voluntary based through our members and volunteers support but rendered difficulty in its organization due to financial delay, sometimes less donors, lack of technical people eg doctors and administrative staffs.

Objectives

To make a disease free world through a scientific approach of Ayurveda and Yoga.
To establish a new World Health Organization, to fulfill the resolution of making a new world order free from disease and medicine, through research work on the knowledge-base of our great saints and sages viz. Maharishi Patanjali, Charak and Sushurut.
To establish with a scientific approach, Pran, diet and lifestyle as medicine for the treatment of all curable and incurable diseases by research on Pranayam / Yog/Ayurved.
To propagate Pranayam, diet and lifestyle as a ″free″ medicine for the treatment of diseases round the globe, through in-depth research in accordance with the parameters of modern medical science, so that the rich and poor may avail its benefits in order to attain sound health.
Making the world a peaceful and tranquil place by using Ayurvedic and Yogic techniques to eradicate fatal effects of medicines and weapons.
To study and research subjects associated with Yajna, Organic Agriculture, Cow-Urine, Nature and Environment in addition to the study and research in Ayurved and yog at the research centre of Institution.
To form a new integrated system of treatment, consisting mainly of the techniques of Ayurved and yog, for Surgery and Emergency cases, Allopathy, Homeopathy, Unani and Acupressure to soothe patients suffering from unbearable pains and rid them of disease.
To evaluate methods of treatment of Physical Body, Etheric Body, Astral Body, Mental Body and Causal Body beyond the present incomplete system of treatment for cure of physical body alone.
To begin degree and diploma courses for students in disciplines of Ayurved and Yog.
Besides imparting Ayurveda and yog education, to set up an equalitarian society based on values of spiritualism, nationalism and justice beyond the boundaries of cast, creed, class and religion for the country′s development.
To create an environment in departments of Education, Health, Forces, Administration, Industry and Business to inspire them to adopt Ayurved & Yog as a regular & necessary practice.
To establish Mauritius as the strongest Economic and Cultural power in the world to provide an atmosphere for every citizen of the world to live with pride.
Generally to provide the material, social and educational welfare to its members.

Major achievements of the organization over the 5 last years

We are among the few organizations in the island who could start to organize basic Yoga & Ayurveda sessions through our volunteer members’ supports and public with lot of efforts and difficulty in the island without any financial support from the Government of Mauritius till date.
2012i) Successful training Courses in Yoga –Health, Nature-Awareness, Ayurveda and weekly classes at Hindu Maha Sabha Port Louis. ii) In April: Yoga Nature day celebration by planting Baobab tree in the yard of Mauritius museum in order to replace the 400 years old dead Baobab In August: Better empowerment training program through awareness of Yoga-Spirituality and good health.
2013i) Successful Yoga Classes at Hindu Maha sabha Port Louis. ii) Herbal day celebration and weekend yoga camp at Grand- bay,Friday 9 July to 10 July iii) Guduchi (Tinosporia cordiforlia) plants were planted and distributed all over Mauritius at Pamplemousses garden, port Louis Municipal garden, socio cultural centers etc Organizing various meetings with yoga teachers, associations, Ayurvedic doctors, Naturopath, Reiki-holistic healers, herbal plants enthusiasts and other stakeholders of Yoga –Ayurveda like Medical spa, tourism, Massage, beauty parlors etc and trying to bring them under one apex umbrella organization =Natural council.
2014i) Successful Yoga-Health training and Herbal plants distribution ii) Organize small Ayurveda & Yoga health program at various villages like Rose Belle ,Grand-Bay, Goodlands, L’esperance Trebuchet, Cap Malheureux, Sottise, Plaine des papayes, Fond du Sac, Rose Hill, Petit Raffray, and Triolet where people took pledge to practice Ayurveda & Yoga as their first modality of treatment whenever ill. Around 620 people were sensitized. iii) 2 talks on National Radio on Ayurveda & Health were done. iv) 3 TV Bhojpuri programmes on 1) Satvic Ahara & Surya Namaskara 2) Madhumeha (DM) Ayurvedic & Yoga management 3) Kahain Jataba Hamni ke Samaj. v) 2 live direct Morning shows on Ayurveda & Yoga Health wellness were done Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation limited. vi) 4 News media coverage were done on public health through holistic medicine vii) A road March on Yoga & Ayurveda awareness was done at Triolet village in patrol of the Mauritius police.
2015i) Feb : Cap malheureux Awareness training ,Around 20 people present ii) Feb 2nd : Awareness talk at Fond du sac at Sai Centre 80+ people were present iii) March 31st: Ayurveda & Yoga awareness at Fond du sac village.150+ people were present. iv) June: A Yoga demonstration at IGCIC, Phoenix with Indian High Commission in context of International Yoga day 100+ people were present.
2016i) March : Goodlands village : Ayurveda & Yoga awareness in health promotion. Around 150 people were present. ii) June : Yoga in daily life presentation at IGCIC, Phoenix with Indian High Commission in context of International Yoga day iii) June,18 : Riviere du Rempart village :Yoga awareness in context of International Yoga day. Around 140 people were present.
2017i) March : AYUSH promotion training at New-Delhi with Government of India, Ministry of AYUSH ii) May :Ayurveda & Yoga awareness at I.G.C.I.C, Phoenix with Indian High Commission in context of International Yoga day. Around 40 people were present iii) May : Ayurveda & Yoga health awareness banner publicity from North (Grand-baie village ) to South (SSR International Airport) on the National Highway of Mauritius.450000+ travelling public must have seen. iv) June :Chemin Grenier village :Ayurveda & Yoga health awareness. Around 80 people were present v) June :Triolet village :Yoga awareness in context of International Yoga day. Around 70 people were present. vi) June : Goodlands village :Yoga awareness in context of International Yoga day. Around 75 people were present.
